Dear Friends — When a flood hit our area in late spring we have had a lot of work to recover. Actually we are still recovering and probably will be for some time.
In the past, if I did a lot of work during the day, it would affect my sleep at night. Depending on how hard I worked I would wake up at around 12, 2, or 4 unable to get back to sleep. To sleep well I limited strenuous activity to only 2-3 hours. Then I would rest the next day.¹
But when the flood came there was so much work to do that I worked from morning to night. I did this for a couple weeks. No matter how hard I worked I was sleeping at night. Amazing!
At first I thought how gracious of God to help me sleep. And Wow! What mighty prayer warriors we have! I was thankful to be working hard during the day and sleeping like a baby at night.
Now I am still able to work hard and sleep at night. This change in my work/sleep was not short lived. God has healed me. I am not sure how or why. I am just thankful. I have been living with these limitations for a long time. God has healed. Prayers have been answered. I am just praising the Lord!!
Except for the flood I may not have realized I was better. Tragedies have silver-linings. God is the God of all Hope. God brings good out of bad for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose.²

Glad you are getting a good nights sleep.
I usually pray when suffering insomnia and can never get through the prayer before falling asleep.

Great that you are sleeping better. That is something my wife has struggled with especially since our daughter moved to heaven 3 1/2 years ago.

I understand. Not sleeping well is a bear. I pray your wife finds a solution and/or that God heals her.
