Joe Biden | God’s Man for Our Times

As a Christian, how can I say President Joe Biden is God’s man for our times? Especially after Biden just lifted the transgender military ban. Am I deluded? Would you believe God showed me this while I was reading the Bible and praying?

First, let’s settle the issue about the U.S. as a Christian nation. The U.S.A. was never a Christian nation. Rather people under the influence of Christian ethics built this nation on Christian principles. And while Christianity has influenced American life and politics for many years, the U.S.A. is not a Christian nation.

To be a Christian nation every citizen would have to be a Christian. Not just trying to live a good Christian life. They would believe in Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord.

Benjamin Franklin and Thomas Jefferson, two founding fathers, were not Christians. It stands to reason that if two representatives were not Christian, then at least a part of American citizenry were not Christian either. For all Americans to be Christian simply is not possible.

Also God has only one chosen nation, Israel. At its beginning the Church of Jesus Christ was grafted into Israel.¹ As a result Christians are God’s chosen nation.² Not the U.S.A.

Nowhere in scripture does it say America is God’s chosen nation. The Bible has much to say about other nations in the world but it has nothing to say about America. The U.S.A. is not mentioned anywhere in scripture.

So, where is this idea that America is a Christian nation coming from? Christianity has influenced American life and politics for many years. As the U.S. gets further away from its Christian base, Christians are concerned. The good life is being taken away from us. And you know what? It is! So we are groping, grasping at straws, to get the good life back.

But we cannot go back. We can only go forward.

I hope you stay tuned. I want to share with you soon what God has shown me about moving forward. No matter what is in our future.

²Peter 2:9

  1. I try not to ascribe a label like that to people I don’t know, and I don’t know him. I hope Biden does well! It would be foolish of me to wish otherwise.

I think people say “Christian nation” because the Western world was founded on Judeo-Christian principles. But I agree with you that we’ve not really been a Christian nation, because Christian standards are high, and we are falling way short of those standards.

Thanks for sharing so honestly 🙂 I find it interesting that some topics are so touchy. It didn’t seem to be that way a few years back. God bless 🙂

  2. It is true, Biden is certainly a man for our current times…. how tragic.
While Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, and certain others did not profess Christianity, they believed in a Deity, and both recognized and admired the principles of the Judaeo Christian ethic. This nation came about miraculously against all the odds, with God’s purposes in mind and His laws the standard. . Several prophecies have been fulfilled by the support of U.S. Presidents, including Harry Truman and Donald Trump.
God’s Word was honored in this country in schools and the law of the land. George Washington warned, as did John Adams, that when we no longer honor the God who established us, He will no longer sustain us.

    1. Thank you friend for taking the time to share your thoughts. We, as Americans, are getting further from our roots … as are other nations … as are churches. The churches are what breaks my heart but that it a subject for another day.
