I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth;
And in Jesus Christ His only Son our Lord;
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, dead, and buried;
He descended into hell;
the third day He rose again from the dead;
He ascended into heaven,
and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty;
from thence He shall come to
judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit;
the Holy Catholic* Church;
the communion of the saints;
the forgiveness of sin;
the resurrection of the body;
and the life everlasting.
Amen.
By Him were all things created … that are in the earth. — Colossians 1:16

This is my Father's world,
And to my list'ning ears,
All nature sings,
and round me rings
The music of the spheres.
This is my Father's world,
I rest me in the thought
Of rocks and trees,
of skies and seas-
His hand the wonders wrought.
This is my Father's world,
The birds their carols raise;
The morning light, the lily white
Declares their Maker's praise.
This is my Father's world.
He shines in all that's fair;
In the rustling grass
I hear Him pass,
He speaks to me ev'rywhere.
This is my Father's world,
O let me ne'er forget
That though the wrong seems oft so strong
God is the Ruler yet.
This is my Father's world,
The battle is not done;
Jesus who died shall be satisfied,
And earth and heaven be one.
When the fullness of time came, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the Law, so that He might redeem those who were under the Law, that we might receive the adoption as sons. Galatians 4:5 NASB
How do people become Christians? Is it a decision for Christ? A belief in Jesus? Repentance of sin? Heaven forbid! It is not. It is 100% the work of God through Christ.
Our dog Bean loves stuffed animals. When he gets a new one, he trots around with it in his mouth so happy. But what he loves most is shredding them! We are amazed if a stuffy lasts 2-3 days. Most stuffies last only a few hours. When this happens we have to take his plaything away or he eats the cotton insides.
False preachers are out to get your money. It has made them filthy rich. They teach what is called the Prosperity Gospel. It misrepresents God’s Holy Scriptures. These preachers are wolves Continue reading “$ Prosperity $ Gospel $”
What a study taught me about miracle-workers and healing
Thy Word is a Lamp to my feet. Psalm 199:105
Several years ago while studying the gospel of John, I came to an understanding of today’s healing and miracle-workers. I never wondered again about contemporary healing and miracles. It was Continue reading “Miracle-Workers and Healing”
Dear Friend — In a word our ultimate hope is Jesus. Maybe you don’t know Jesus, personally. Maybe you wonder why He is considered the ultimate hope, above all others. Or perhaps you do know Jesus and in your Continue reading “The Ultimate Hope”
Why does a loving God allow suffering? Inadvertently, a past post answered this question, at least in part. To begin with it must be understood that people, not God, are the source of suffering. God created a perfect world. The first man and woman though warned, disobeyed God.1 The result of this choice brought suffering, misery and pain to their world and ours.
While praying for the sick and infected this thought came to me, “What if the COVID-19 virus is the judgment of God on the nations?” Is it God’s will to heal and help? To sustain bodies and spirits? Continue reading “Is God Judging Us?”
There are Bibles today that reflect the culture. There are pastors and Christian writers today who reflect the culture. If Paul the apostle were living today would his writing reflect the culture? Continue reading “What If Paul Lived Today?”

The love of God is a BIG subject. It would take an infinite amount of series to cover it all. To narrow the topic down I am exploring the question is God’s love conditional or unconditional. These two words are not found in the Bible. Continue reading “God Found a Way”
The love of God is a BIG subject. It is unfathomable. There is one question I would like answered. Is God’s love conditional or unconditional? Continue reading “The Love of God”
The difference between the church and other philanthropic groups
Something disturbing has happened in evangelical churches. At one time the gospel message was central to their teaching and outreach; today something else has taken its place. Continue reading “What Happened to the Gospel?”
In an earlier post I broached the subject of struggling with sin versus practicing it. I wrote that it appeared a former friend had lost her struggle with lesbianism. The following verses from the Bible speaks to this. Continue reading “The Normal Christian Life”
Jesus>Religion: Why He is so Much Better than Trying Hard, Doing More, and Being Good Enough is the second great book I have read this year. The other book was Continue reading “Jesus>Religion”
I’ve been pondering something. Why does eternity resonates with those around my age and older? Is it because we are beginning to lose family and friends who have gone before us? Continue reading “Heavenward”
