What can I say about my trip to Israel and Jordan? There are so many memories. I will be telling and writing about this for some time. One of the many things that impressed me was Jerusalem. When entering the tunnel to go to Jerusalem our tour guide played the moving song, “Jerusalem, Jerusalem.”
American Christians realize that persecution is not far away. This is because today’s culture is hostile towards Christians. The secular world believes we are responsible for the Supreme Court overturn of Roe v Wade. They are half-expecting the same thing will happen to same gender marriages. They are alarmed about this.
HAVE YOU EVER WONDERED why the name of this blog is BeYeGlad? Sometimes what is written is nothing to be glad about. Like a few posts ago. I wrote about depression. How does this fit with the general theme of this blog? It gets confusing. Right?
Last week the Bible study I led broke for the summer. There were 8 women who attended. This is a nice number for a Bible study. We studied Philippians, Titus and the Gospel of Matthew inductively.¹
At the close of 2021 I want to thank you for following BeYeGlad!I appreciateeach one of you. Thank you for every comment and every “like.” Before revealing the 2021 Top Post this is my 2022 prayer for you: Continue reading Top Post for 2021
The Feminist Movement began when I was in high school. It had a huge impact on my generation and beyond. Feminists were known for throwing off the traditions once held by women. Feminism was recognized for freedom from the existing roles and expectations of women, as mothers and keepers of the home.
I knew this day would come. God is leading me away from blogging weekly. For the last 9 years I’ve been blogging intermittently but steady for the last four. I have made lots of friends. I am thankful for each one who is following this blog.
I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth;
And in Jesus Christ His only Son our Lord;
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, dead, and buried;
He descended into hell;
the third day He rose again from the dead;
He ascended into heaven,
and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty;
from thence He shall come to
judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit;
the Holy Catholic* Church;
the communion of the saints;
the forgiveness of sin;
the resurrection of the body;
and the life everlasting.
Amen.
This is my Father's world,
And to my list'ning ears,
All nature sings,
and round me rings
The music of the spheres.
This is my Father's world,
I rest me in the thought
Of rocks and trees,
of skies and seas-
His hand the wonders wrought.
This is my Father's world,
The birds their carols raise;
The morning light, the lily white
Declares their Maker's praise.
This is my Father's world.
He shines in all that's fair;
In the rustling grass
I hear Him pass,
He speaks to me ev'rywhere.
This is my Father's world,
O let me ne'er forget
That though the wrong seems oft so strong
God is the Ruler yet.
This is my Father's world,
The battle is not done;
Jesus who died shall be satisfied,
And earth and heaven be one.
A book¹ I once read quoted this verse, “Those who believe in the Son of God have a testimony of God in them.”² Our testimonies or stories are unique. God wants us to be intentional about sharing them. Mine is about how a church lady became a Christian. This may sound a bit backwards. At the same time, you may relate.
Are people supposed to be perfect? I’ve been asking myself this question while getting ready for visitors. As soon as we knew they were coming we went into high gear preparing, cleaning and fixing up.
LGBTQ people are trying to raise their civil rights above religious rights.¹ They are doing this by the legislation called The Equality Act. If this passes you will not have the right to voice or practice a different belief, without being hassled, bullied, sued, fined, or imprisoned.
It’s official. Spring is here. It’s time to say good-bye to winter, warm blankets, cozy slippers, snug socks, comfy robes and cups of hot cocoa. I am definitely a northern girl. I truly like winter!
God So Loved the World. God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoso believeth, believeth in Him should not perish, should not perish but have everlasting life.
I am a Christian so whenever a Democrat becomes President I am concerned. It feels like the ground is shifting under my feet. I wonder what it will mean for Christians. I speculate whether Christians will be persecuted with the inevitable changes.
Before continuing on I would like to share what I learned from my readers. Last week’s post was whether America, in the true sense of the word, was ever a Christian nation. I concluded it was not.
As a Christian, how can I say President Joe Biden is God’s man for our times? Especially after Biden just lifted the transgender military ban. Am I deluded? Would you believe God showed me this while I was reading the Bible and praying?
As we close this unusual year of 2020, abig thanks to everyone who has followed this blog! I am grateful for each one of you. Thank you for every “like” and each comment made.
When the fullness of time came, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the Law, so that He might redeem those who were under the Law, that we might receive the adoption as sons. Galatians 4:5 NASB
