I had a birthday this week. I am closer to 70 than I care to admit. Actually, I cannot believe how old I am. I don’t feel it. I may look it. But I do not feel it. Inside I feel, oh – about 50. Not anywhere near 70 years old!
I am a Christian so whenever a Democrat becomes President I am concerned. It feels like the ground is shifting under my feet. I wonder what it will mean for Christians. I speculate whether Christians will be persecuted with the inevitable changes.
In my distress I send up prayers to God. When God answers my little, inadequate prayers I am always amazed. Compared to the grand scheme of things, my prayers are trivial and trite. God surely has more important things to do.

What’s there about “nothing” that you don’t understand?
We were talking about alcohol addiction when one person said his whole family had been delivered from alcohol. Someone asked him how this happened. We all had in mind what we thought he would say. Continue reading “Why prayer is hard”
I got over dad’s death but crying at funerals continued
I have heard it said losing a parent is always hard but the first one is the worst. I would have to agree. In spite of this or because of this God worked a miracle in my life. Continue reading “When a parent dies”
“When they came to the border of Mysia, they tried to enter Bithynia, but the Spirit of Jesus would not allow them to.” — I cried the first time I understood what this passage meant. I cried because I have experienced the Spirit leading in this way. At times He has led me toward Continue reading “There is always a plan”
