WHAT A FRIEND WE HAVE IN JESUS,
all our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry
ev’rything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit,
O what needless pain we bear,
all because we do not carry
ev’rything to God in prayer!

HAVE YOU EVER WONDERED why the name of this blog is BeYeGlad? Sometimes what is written is nothing to be glad about. Like a few posts ago. I wrote about depression. How does this fit with the general theme of this blog? It gets confusing. Right?
Continue reading Why BeYeGlad? | Blessings ❤I’m not one to normally take to my bed. But when a couple trying circumstances hit at once that’s just what I did. First were feelings of failure then the loss of power, finally helplessness. I shut the bedroom door and went to bed. I was a wreck.
Continue reading Do Not Disturb! In my distress I send up prayers to God. When God answers my little, inadequate prayers I am always amazed. Compared to the grand scheme of things, my prayers are trivial and trite. God surely has more important things to do.

Then there was Covid. And if that’s not enough, our county had major flooding after 2 dams failed. And because the dams failed, our drain tiles failed and water came into our finished basement.
Continue reading Six Months after the FloodOur dog Bean loves stuffed animals. When he gets a new one, he trots around with it in his mouth so happy. But what he loves most is shredding them! We are amazed if a stuffy lasts 2-3 days. Most stuffies last only a few hours. When this happens we have to take his plaything away or he eats the cotton insides.

It will be one month today that two dams on the Tittabawassee River failed¹ and our county was flooded. The estimated cost to more than 2,500 homes, businesses and non-profit organizations was Continue reading First the Virus then the Flood-Part 2
Hi Friend — This has been quite a year. First, one child had serious health problems. Second, the other had serious personal issues. Then covid-19 hit. During covid-19 came the flood. And it is only May! Continue reading First the Virus then the Flood
Dear Friend — Life can become unbearably difficult at times. When it does then what? I can look to myself. I can look for escape. I can look to others. I can look to politicians. Really, this list is en Continue reading Blog Transformation Underway
Why does a loving God allow suffering? Inadvertently, a past post answered this question, at least in part. To begin with it must be understood that people, not God, are the source of suffering. God created a perfect world. The first man and woman though warned, disobeyed God.1 The result of this choice brought suffering, misery and pain to their world and ours.
